Interview with OMJAKON after their victory in Ligt Mix: Heikki Hihnala Outi Seppä OMJAKON is not a such recognized team here in Sweden. But in fact, they have beaten Team Finland, more times than they have been beaten. Editors note. Outi and Heikki is a team that is ver easy to talk with and you notice that they function good together. - What's your background? Outi Seppä - Mostly running Heikki Hihnala - Originally Ice hockey. Started AR 2002. Last time they was together was when they won Czech Adventure Race (The race is international championships of the Czech republic) - So, what about your race? The race was really good. The first sections went really well. We was consistently in a "Keep pushing"-mode in the very beginning we did misstankes when we pushed. Supricingly because you ar then fresh, but maybe we pushed a bit too hard. Gradually, the misstakes was fewer and fewer and then we got our pay-back. - Possitve things! The team-work has worked well. The pulling on MTB and helping each other. Heikki: The only bad thing was that I wasent as strong as usual on MTB. We had a really good part in SS10, the part when you have the swamp and flying fox. (I noticed that when I met them at the flying fox. For example. I don't think many teams did such a good switch and the also found a shortcut to the start of the fllying fox that no other teams found) - What was best with the course? Heikkki: The swim in Klarälven. (i don't think any one else has ranked that as there first possitive things directly after the race) Outi: The night running. You are so concentrated and focus so it just flows. - Paddlng? We still have ice, so this is the first time this year. - What about next year? We like that the race is so early in the season so if it just fits into our schedule. - Ok thanks! /Lars Lundegård (Trying to be reporter, fourth interview in a row. Getting up the speed...) |
